  • As our divided nation wrestles for the heart and soul of its future, Latinos hold the key to determining whether it is one guided by equity, diversity and inclusivity or one divided by hate and grievance. 30 years ago, California Latinos rebelled after the passage of anti-immigrant Proposition 187, directly resulting in the transformation of politics in the Golden State. The mass demonstrations, naturalization campaigns, and voter mobilization efforts led to incredible change in California's power structure and priorities, creating the environment where Democrats command overwhelming control. 30 years later, we find ourselves in a similar moment, but at a national level.

Research points to a younger Latino voter block that shows up less at the ballot box, not seeing tangible solutions on the pressing issues that impact their families, and feeling disconnected from the political class. On the other hand, scapegoating immigrants is once again a central wedge issue dividing our nation. They promise "mass deportations" and look to enact draconian measures to curb immigration, but mostly they are using these tactics to divide national BIPOC coalitions in order to take control of the White House, Congress, and the Courts. Even with these dire predictions, enthusiasm within the Latino community has not matched the energy from the other side.

So the question at the next Diálogo is, “How do we (re)ignite the Latino Vote and bridge the divide?”

Join us for a conversation around transforming the Latino voter from disillusioned to a power bloc for change. Our panel will include a cadre of top tier speakers from media, GOTV and messaging experts on the 2024 Presidential Election.
